One of the oldest continously operating airlines of the world has ceased all operations with immediate effect:

MALEV - Hungarian Airlines, almost a century old has ceased operations tonight due to financial problems. It has been put under bankruptcy protection in the end of last week and has now ceased all operations due to the lack of financial ressources.

Currently it is not known, if MALEV will restart or say good-bye to the airline world for ever.

The last Friday afternoon was my first office free afternoon within my parental leave and I was able to make some reconnosation for my spotting guides (which I hope to implement very soon) and of course some interesting pictures. After the demise of Amsterdam Airlines last week, Strategic Airlines  is taking over their charter assignments instead, bringing a new database entry for me:

Transavia is leasing out some of their planes to Aero Mexico this winter, PH-HZO is one of them, here being prepared for the transfer flight to Mexico in Schiphol-Oost:

On this sunny October (late) afternoon, I was able to spare some time with my family at the lovely, but relatively "fresh" Polderbaan "Spottersplek".

So we took the smallest Amsterdam Spotter with 4 feet, the Junior Spotter and the Manager Spotter (my wife is our family manager) to the Polderbaan an just walked some hundred meters on the adjacent bikepath, powering out the Dogspotter with a lot of running and playing and the junior spotter with almost the same activities, giving me the space to take some nice pictures.

Today is a sad day for most of the Martinair employees. Effective today, Martin Air Holland ceases passenger operations with their Boeing 767-300ER planes.

Today there is  a "Goodbye Flight" scheduled with the PH-MCL Retrojet of Martinair which will fly for about one hour above the Netherland to say "Farewell" to all possible Martinair passengers in the Netherlands.

As spotters, we will miss the Martinair 767's, but will look forward on how Martinair will develop further in regards to Cargo Traffic which shall be the new role in the AirFrance - KLM group for Martinair.

Goodbye PH-MCL and sister planes, the Amsterdam Spotter will miss all of you:

Hello to all,

now upcoming the veyry first content post for the relaunched Amsterdam-Spotter.

It has been a while and I know, for some of our visitors it is not something new I present in the following, but I think it is still worth of posting these pictures again.

The 2011 Air Force Days will be the last AirForce Days until 2013, where the Dutch AirForce will then celebrate their 100th anniversary in Volkel.

But now to the present, the Air Force Days 2011 were again a fabulous event which was organized pretty well and had some highlights to present.

The very first highlight already has been experienced, when I was not even close to the Airbase with the parking spot on the Motorway between Harlingen and Leeuwarden as they have simply closed down a whole motorway to accomodate all the parking cars of us visitors. The airforce offered a free Bus shuttle to the AirBase from where ver you have parked on the long Motorway strip which provided a smooth way of parking...

Unfortunately, we experienced a full server breakdown this weekend, including the damage of our backup drives and files, so we need to start from scratch with this website.

In the upcoming days, we will more and more bring back the old contents and relaunch the Vogt Familie Website.
